Marketing Funnel For Authors

Today I met with William Beerman Sr, the author of Mary Regina’s Nursing Home. He was looking for advise on how to get more sales of his book using Facebook and his website. As our conversation progressed, I explained to him the idea of using a marketing funnel to sell his book and how that can work with his Facebook page.

WHAT IS A MARKETING SALES FUNNEL?

For authors it is a simple online process that takes people through the steps of first being introduced to your book to actually purchasing your book. This can be done with a simple one page landing page.

HOW DOES A LANDING PAGE WORK?

There are many different types of landing pages, but the one I suggested to Mr. Beerman is a simple video sales letter. A video sales letter landing page contains an eye catching headline, a video where Mr. Beerman will explain why he wrote the book Mary Regina’s nursing home and what information prospective readers can get from reading the book. Next to the video sales letter will be a buy now button that will link to his Amazon page. Super simple.

WHY USE A LANDING PAGE WHEN I HAVE A WEBSITE?

This is a very good question and one that Mr. Beerman and I discussed at length. The single biggest reason is that a landing page has one purpose and one purpose alone and that is for someone to see the video and make the decision to buy the book or not. Nothing else, no website articles to read, no tabs to click through, no distractions. Just view the video about the book and make the decision to buy or not. In today’s society, people have the attention span of gnats and if you give them too many choices or too many clicks to go through to get the information you want them to recieve, you lose them.

HOW DOES THIS WORK WITH FACEBOOK?

Once your video sales landing page is completed, you can use Facebook ads to drive traffic to your landing page.

As we ended our conversation about landing pages for authors, Mr. Beerman gave me his book to read. Looking forward to diving in and learning all about Mary Regina’s journey.
